County Legislature Approves Website Suggestion Box
Cooper Initiative Approved Unanimously
The Suffolk County Legislature in a unanimous vote on Tuesday approved a measure proposed by Legislator Jon Cooper (D-Huntington) to create a suggestion box on the home page of the county's website.
Cooper's bill, introduced last month, will give county residents a new and convenient way to convey their ideas and register complaints with county officials. The resolution requires the appropriate county departments to respond quickly to any suggestions or questions left on the web page.
"I'm delighted that each and every legislator welcomed this initiative," Cooper said. "I believe this legislation will offer an efficient way for citizens to have their voices heard."
The resolution was approved at the Legislature's regular meeting in Riverhead by an 18-0 vote. All eighteen legislators asked to be made co-sponsors of the bill.
